Combine Streams into a Mix
Merge multiple Streams into one unified view — or split a big survey into focused parts that report together.
- You need admin access to do this. About roles
- You need at least one existing Stream to include in the Mix
A Stream Mix pulls results from several Streams into a single Dashboard view. It works in two directions: merge existing Streams that were created separately, or split a long survey into shorter ones that still report as one.
Keep individual Streams focused. Short, targeted surveys work best — combine them in a Mix for the big picture rather than building one massive survey.
Why Use a Stream Mix?
Merge — bring separate Streams together
You already have multiple Streams collecting data independently. A Mix lets you view them as one without touching the original surveys.
- Different channels, one report. Some locations use ExpressPod, others use Link surveys. A Mix gives you a combined satisfaction score across all of them.
- Survey redesign mid-year. You changed your questions in June but want a continuous trend line. A Mix combines old and new data on the same Dashboard.
Split — break a large survey into focused parts
Instead of building one long survey with dozens of questions, create several short Streams — each focused on a single topic — and combine them in a Mix.
- Higher completion rates. A 2-question survey gets far more responses than a 15-question one. Keep each piece short enough that people actually finish it.
- Mix and match per location. Store A needs questions about fitting rooms; Store B does not have fitting rooms. Create a fitting-room Stream and only include it where relevant — the Mix still shows a unified report.
- Roll out changes gradually. Update one part of the survey without touching the rest. The Mix keeps reporting as usual while you iterate on individual Streams.
Create a Stream Mix
A Stream Mix is built block-by-block. Each block pulls results from one or more source Streams and displays them as a single question on the combined Dashboard.
Build the blocks
- Go to Streams in the sidebar and click +. A type selection panel appears.
- Select Stream Mix. The wizard opens on the Blocks tab.
- Click Add new block to create your first block.
- Under Select from which questions to import results, use the + Add question picker to choose one or more questions from your existing Streams. If you select multiple questions of the same type, their results are merged into one score.
- Enter a title for the block (this is what respondents would see if the Mix were published — in practice it is the label that appears on the Dashboard). Optionally expand the section switch to add a subheading and a friendly block name for reports.
- For Smiley blocks, pick a sentiment index. For Smiley, NPS, or Multiple Choice blocks, you can also configure how results are shared.
- Repeat Add new block for every question you want in the Mix. Drag and drop blocks to reorder them.
Configure settings
- Click the Settings tab.
- Enter a Stream Mix name — something that describes the combined view, e.g. "All Customer Feedback 2026" or "Store Experience — Full Survey."
- Review the Included Touchpoints list. This is populated automatically from the source Streams you picked on the Blocks tab.
- Toggle Show in Details on (default) to make this Mix visible in the Dashboard's Details view.
- Toggle Show in Overview to display the Mix's sentiment score on the Overview. When enabled, choose a Period and optionally turn on comparison with a previous period.
- Click Save. The Mix appears in the Dashboard alongside your regular Streams.
Good to Know
Any combination. ExpressPod, ExpressTab, Link, Widget, and Public Review Streams can all live in the same Mix. The key is that question types need to be compatible — Smiley blocks combine with Smiley blocks, NPS with NPS, and so on.
Adding a Stream to a Mix does not change it. The original Stream continues to collect responses independently and still appears in the Dashboard on its own. The Mix is a separate view layered on top.
A Stream is not locked to a single Mix. Include the same Stream in different Mixes to create different reporting views — one Mix per region and another for the whole company, for example.
If you change a question in one of the included Streams, the Mix reflects the change for new responses. Historical data from before the change is preserved as-is.
If you delete a Stream that belongs to a Mix, its blocks are removed from the Mix. Historical data from that Stream is no longer available in the Mix view.
