How Ombea Works

Streams, Touchpoints, Dashboard — here's how they fit together.

Three concepts run the whole platform. Get these and everything else clicks.

See it in action

The big picture

Every feedback journey follows three steps:

  1. Build a Stream — your survey, your questions.
  2. Deploy it to a Touchpoint — a tablet, a link, a widget.
  3. Read the results on your Dashboard — scores, trends, individual responses.

That's it. Build once, deploy anywhere, results flow in automatically.

Streams — what you ask

A Stream is your survey. Questions, design, logic — built once, deployed anywhere. Pick the type that fits your setup:

TypeWhat it isBest for
ExpressPodFive smiley buttons on a physical deviceQuick pulse checks at high-traffic spots
ExpressTabMulti-question survey on a tabletDetailed feedback with branching
LinkA URL anyone can openEmail surveys, QR codes, SMS
Website WidgetPops up on your websiteVisitor feedback without leaving the page
Desktop WidgetPops up on employee computersEmployee pulse surveys
Google ReviewsImports reviews automaticallyMonitoring your Google reputation
TrustpilotImports reviews automaticallyMonitoring your Trustpilot reputation
Tip:

Tie every question to a goal. Surveys that connect to real initiatives turn every response into a clear next step.

Touchpoints — where you ask

A Touchpoint is a feedback channel at a specific location. The tablet at the door. The QR code on a receipt. The link in a follow-up email.

One Stream, many Touchpoints. Build your survey once and deploy it to as many places as you need. Same questions, different locations — all results in one place.

Tip:

Timing is your superpower. The closer to the experience, the better the insights. A tablet at the exit beats an email three days later.

Dashboard — where you read results

Every response lands on your Dashboard automatically. No setup, no waiting.

Tip:

The magic happens when you act. Check your dashboard weekly, pick one thing to improve, watch the score move. That's when feedback becomes a competitive advantage.

Go deeper

Folders group Locations. Locations are where feedback happens. Touchpoints sit inside Locations. This hierarchy controls who sees what. See Set Up Your Organization.

Smiley questions produce an index score — Insights Index, NPS, CSAT, and more. See What Do the Scores Mean?.

Access is tied to Locations and Folders, not Streams. Give someone access to a Location and they see all data from its Touchpoints. See Add and Manage Users.

ExpressPod syncs hourly. Everything else updates in near-real time.

Short surveys, clear questions, fast timing. Send emails within 24 hours. Place devices where people naturally pause. See Survey Email Best Practice and Manage Your Questions.
