Organize Your Locations

Build the structure that keeps your feedback organized from day one.

Before you begin

Your hierarchy runs on three building blocks. Folders group things together. Locations represent physical places. Websites represent your web domains. All three are created from the same page and share the same permissions model.

Navigate to the Admin Page

Open the Admin section in the sidebar and click Touchpoints. You will see a search bar, a breadcrumb trail starting at Root, and a view toggle (Grid or Table). Hit the + button in the bottom-right corner to create new items.

Click + and select Folder. Folders let you group Locations and Websites into logical categories — regions, departments, floors, whatever fits your org.

  • Folder name — Give it a descriptive name (e.g. "Europe" or "Ground Floor").
  • Parent Folder — Choose where it sits in your hierarchy. Leave it as Root for the top level.
  • Permissions — Control who can access this folder and everything inside it. Click Add user to grant access and assign a role — Admin or Standard. You cannot edit your own permissions.

Click Save to create the folder.

Click + and select Location. A Location is a physical place — a store, office, clinic, you name it.

  1. Information — Enter the Location name (autocomplete suggests matching addresses to auto-fill address and timezone), choose a Parent Folder, fill in the Address (Line 1, Town / City, and Zip / Post code are required), select a Timezone (locks after creation), optionally upload an Image, and set Operating hours and Operating days.
  2. Touchpoints — Add Touchpoints to start collecting feedback. Check the table below for which guide to follow.
  3. Permissions — Works the same as folder permissions — click Add user, assign a role, and save.

Click + and select Website. A Website represents your web domain and holds widget Touchpoints.

  1. Installation — Enter a Website name (e.g. "ombea.com"), choose a Parent Folder, and copy the auto-generated JavaScript snippet to paste just before the closing tag on every page where you want widgets to appear.
  2. Touchpoints — Add widget Touchpoints to start collecting feedback. Check the table below for which guide to follow.
  3. Permissions — Works the same as folder permissions.

What Do You Want to Collect?

Once your Location or Website exists, add Touchpoints to it. Find the right guide here:

Tip:

Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of any wizard to move between steps. If you navigate away with unsaved changes, the wizard warns you before discarding them.

Edit and Delete

Single-click any item on the admin page to open the details panel on the right. Click the pencil icon to reopen the wizard with your current settings pre-filled.

A few restrictions to keep in mind:

  • The folder name is disabled for the root folder.
  • The timezone on a Location is permanently locked after creation.
  • Parent folder is disabled if the item is not moveable.

Open the details panel and click the trash icon. A confirmation dialog asks you to confirm. You cannot delete the root folder.

Deleting a Location or Website also removes all results associated with it. This is irreversible — move any Touchpoints or sub-items elsewhere first.

Good to Know

Single-clicking opens the details panel on the right, where you can view, edit, or delete. Double-clicking navigates into a folder, showing its contents. The breadcrumb trail updates so you can find your way back.

There is no hard limit. That said, keeping your hierarchy reasonably shallow — two or three levels — makes navigation and permissions management much easier.

Users granted access to a folder can see all Touchpoints and sub-folders within it, unless further restricted at a lower level. If the edit button is grayed out, you do not have permission to modify that item.
