Fix common issues before reaching out to support

Something off with your ExpressTabA tablet-based feedback device for longer surveys. Supports branching and multi-question flows.? Most issues have a quick fix. Run through these checks before reaching out to support.

Screen Is Off

The most common cause is a power issue. Work through these steps in order:

  1. Reconnect the charging cable and check whether a charging indicator appears on the screen.
  2. If a charging sign is visible -- let the tablet charge for at least 2 hours. Then press and hold the power button (a small white button near the top-left edge) to start it.
  3. If there is no charging sign -- try a different USB cable (USB-A to Micro USB, or USB Type-C depending on your model). Then try a different charging adapter -- any standard Android charger will do.
  4. If nothing works -- contact support@ombea.com. The device may need a replacement under warranty.

How to Reboot

If your ExpressTab has become unresponsive, or one of our support team has asked you to reboot it. You should be in an area with good 3G or 4G reception for this procedure.

  1. Press and hold the ExpressTab power button.
  2. A menu will appear on the ExpressTab screen, where you can select the option to Restart.
Tip:

You cannot switch the ExpressTab off. If you try, it will automatically start up again. This is deliberate and is designed to keep the ExpressTab running and collecting feedback for you. If you must switch the ExpressTab off, the best way is to remove the power cable and wait for the battery to run down.
